PraxiOS

Where PraxiOS is stronger

  • Flat per-firm pricing: up to 5 users for $299/mo, up to 15 for $699/mo. Adding a person inside your plan doesn't change the bill.
  • One price includes everything. There are no paid add-ons or usage credits to budget for, and clients are unlimited.
  • A monthly option on every plan, with annual billing at 10× the monthly price. Canopy publishes annual pricing for its standard plans.
  • Clients don't create an account. You send a link that expires in 1–30 days, can be single-use, and can be rotated or revoked.
  • Uploads are read with OCR, classified by document type and linked to the matching checklist item automatically.
Canopy

Where Canopy is stronger

  • E-signatures (with KBA available), a fuller secure messaging inbox and a client mobile app. PraxiOS has no e-sign or app, and its portal messages are simpler.
  • Payment processing for invoices (cards and ACH), where PraxiOS only records payments.
  • Deep tax-practice integrations, including IRS Transfer, QuickBooks Online and tax software such as UltraTax, Drake and Lacerte (ProConnect listed as coming soon), plus a client-data API.
  • Connected email and calendars.
  • Specialist modules such as Tax Resolution and Tax Workflow Automation, plus CRM, capacity planning and custom reporting on higher tiers.
  • For very small teams, per-user pricing can cost less than a flat firm price.

Who should choose which

Choose PraxiOS if

You want simple, predictable pricing and less document chasing.

You're a 1–50 person firm that mainly needs a work board, a client portal that sorts uploads, and invoicing. You don't need e-sign, card processing or integrations right now.

Choose Canopy if

You want one platform for the whole client relationship.

You need e-signatures, a full messaging inbox, payment processing, IRS transcript and tax-software integrations, or tax resolution tools, and you're comfortable with per-user pricing and add-ons.

PraxiOS prices are per firm, so a 3-person firm on Starter pays the same as a 5-person one. At 3 users, Canopy Standard (3 × $74 × 12 = $2,664/yr) costs less than PraxiOS Starter. The prices compare plans, not identical feature sets — see the table above.

FAQ

Common questions

Can I move from Canopy to PraxiOS?+

Yes. PraxiOS imports your client list from a Canopy CSV export, with the column mapping built in, and work in progress is set up by hand. The Enterprise plan includes help importing your client list, and the Professional plan includes a live onboarding session. On Starter, setup is self-serve with email support.

Can clients sign documents or pay invoices in PraxiOS?+

Not today. PraxiOS has no e-signatures and doesn't process card or bank payments. You create invoices and record payments received elsewhere. If either is essential, Canopy includes both.

Can clients message us through the portal?+

Yes. Clients can send your firm a message from the PraxiOS portal, and staff replies are emailed to the client. It isn't a full chat inbox like Canopy's; clients also use the portal to see what's outstanding, upload documents and view their account details.

Are there add-ons or per-client fees?+

No. Every PraxiOS plan includes every feature and unlimited clients. Plans differ only by the number of users and the level of support.
