Fit

Who is PraxiOS for, and who isn't it for?

PraxiOS fits a 2–50 person firm whose biggest headache is chasing and sorting client documents, and which wants one predictable price. It isn't the right choice yet for firms that depend on e-signatures, integrations or collecting payments inside their practice software.

FitGood match

PraxiOS is for you if

  • You're a firm of roughly 2 to 50 people and want one flat price, whether you have 2 users or 5
  • Chasing and sorting client documents is the work you most want to cut
  • You'd rather clients use a link than create another account
  • You want every feature without moving up a tier, and the option to pay monthly
FitNot yet

PraxiOS isn't for you yet if

  • You need e-signatures, proposals or engagement letters in the same tool
  • You rely on QuickBooks, Xero, tax-software or email integrations, or an API
  • You want clients to pay invoices online; PraxiOS records payments but doesn't process them
  • You need native mobile apps or client chat
  • You're a solo practitioner or a 3-person team looking for the lowest price

FAQ

Comparison questions

Is PraxiOS cheaper than Karbon, Canopy or TaxDome?+

For firms of 5 or more users, yes, on published list prices. A 5-person firm pays $2,990 a year for PraxiOS Starter paid annually, compared with $3,540 for Karbon Team, $4,440 for Canopy Standard and $5,000 for TaxDome Pro. For a solo practitioner or a 3-person team, Karbon, Canopy and TaxDome can cost less than PraxiOS.

What does PraxiOS do that Karbon, Canopy and TaxDome don't?+

PraxiOS charges one flat price per firm with every feature on every plan, and its client portal needs no client account: clients get a link that expires in 1 to 30 days. PraxiOS also reads each upload with OCR, identifies the document type and links it to the matching checklist item, which Karbon and TaxDome don't state on the pages we checked; Canopy sells a usage-based “Smart Client Intake & Delivery” add-on.

What does PraxiOS not have that the others do?+

PraxiOS has no e-signatures, no integrations or public API, no payment processing, no inbox integration and no native mobile apps. Karbon, Canopy and TaxDome each offer most of these. PraxiOS records payments received elsewhere rather than collecting them.

Can I switch to PraxiOS from Karbon, Canopy or TaxDome?+

Yes. PraxiOS imports your client list from a Karbon, Canopy or TaxDome CSV export, with the column mapping for each built in; work in progress is set up by hand. The PraxiOS Enterprise plan includes help importing your client list, Professional includes a live onboarding session, and Starter is self-serve with email support. If you're on a multi-year TaxDome term, check its renewal date first.
